Village Green and Community Garden in Lewellen
The Community Garden Project in Lewellen promotes sustainability, eating healthy, staying active, caring for nature, and working together. The project strives for perennial food sources and beautification, benefitting our community for years to come.
However, there is a Golden Rule that manages the Community Garden: Thou Shalt Not Take Food...without first weeding!
The Village Green is a downtown space that is a microcosm of area ecosystems and land formations; observe the Sandhills grasses, river like paths, sandstones bluffs, and low lying marshes using native and naturalized vegetation. Engraved stones are in memory of beloved friends that have passed on. Partake freely in the seasonal fruit, rest in the shade, and find peace!
