At Volunteers of America Western Nebraska, we offer a variety of programs and services.

  • Chappell Child Care Center

    The Chappell Child Care Center is licensed for 25 children through the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services and accepts children from 6 weeks of age through 13 years old.

  • The Community Closet Thrift Store

    The Community Closet provides an opportunity for recycling of household goods within our community, and a low-cost alternative for low-income families to purchase such goods.

  • Creek Valley Preschool

    Creek Valley Preschool is an exciting program created to help children grow socially and academically.

  • Drug & Alcohol Prevention

    Both Deuel and Garden Counties have community coalitions (youth and adults) with the purpose of reducing underage use of alcohol, tobacco and illegal drugs.

  • Elderly Services

    Volunteers of America Western Nebraska serves our older residents of Garden County with exercise programs, health fairs and community events.

  • Food Pantry

    People in Garden County have decided that no one should go hungry. Three churches joined with us to start a food pantry about ten years ago and support has grown every year.

  • Garden County Preschool

    The Garden County Preschool is a fully licensed preschool with programs for children ranging in age from 3 to 5 years old and is partnered with Head Start.

  • The Giving Bee

    The Giving Bee is a group of quilters whose heartstrings were tugged by stories of foster care children. The goal is that every child taken into foster care be given a quilt of their own.

  • The Good News Club

    Volunteers lead the children in games and snacks followed by memorizing Bible verses and learning how to put Christian principles into daily living.

  • Health Promotion

    Volunteers of America Western Nebraska offers exercise equipment and classes. Health fairs are offered every other year as well.

  • Potter Dix Early Learning Facility

    The Potter Dix Early Learning Facility provides kids with a safe, organized, child-directed learning environment that emphasizes mutual respect, fun and much more.

  • South Platte Preschool

    South Platte Preschool is focused on serving children between ages 3 – 5 years old. Our goals are to help meet the needs of your child by helping him/her grow emotionally, socially, academically, and physically.

  • Utility Assistance

    Utility/Rental Assistance for residents of Garden County is provided through Volunteers of America Western Nebraska with funding from Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska and the United Methodist Church of Oshkosh.

    Garden County Public Schools, in partnership with the Creek Valley and South Platte school districts serve 12 - 15 at risk infants and toddlers through a family engagement home visiting program. This program partners closely with and is coordinated through Volunteers of America Western Nebraska. Our local Sixpence program uses the Parents as Teachers curriculum and engages participants through regular meetings, social events and support!
